The Green Bay Packers lost in a tough matchup to the Atlanta Falcons 24-25 in week 2. Though the Packers did lose, the best bets of the week went 2-1, moving to 4-2 on the season.
Here is a quick little recap from the week two bets.
Green Bay Packers Week Two Betting Results
The Packers +1.5 Would have much rather have the outright win, but you take it anytime you can win a bet. Getting the half point was huge, rather than resulting in a push. The Packers had plenty of opportunities to put the game away, but we won the bet and moved on.(Win)
Under 40.5 – The game flow did not particularly go in my favor. The Packers were able to score much quicker than expected, and with 36 total points going into the fourth quarter, this was going to be a tough bet to win.(Loss)
Jordan Love over 13.5 rush yards – If we have learned anything yet, it is Jordan Love does not shy away from making a play with his feet. One of Jordan’s rushes went for 24 yards, making this an easy win.(Win)
Green Bay Packers vs. Atlanta Falcons Best Bets
First Best Bet Derek Carr, Over 233.5 Passing Yards
News has recently broke that Jaire is battling a back injury. The Saints are missing their two best running backs; Derek Carr will be throwing the ball. Carr is averaging 266.5 yards per game and has played two good defenses. This number is too low against a Packers defense that gave up 237 to Desmond Ridder.
Second Best Bet: Packers Moneyline -115 (According to DraftKings)
This certainly has some biased opinion in this bet, but the Packers have won their last ten home openers. The Packers are 31-8 at home in the previous five years. Many of the guys were pissed off after the Atlanta game, and I expect that to carry over into this game.
The Saints are also coming off an interdivisional matchup on Monday night; give me the home team that isn’t coming off a short week.
Third Best Bet: Jordan Love Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
This is a value bet for me. Jordan Love has three touchdowns in the last two games, and this line is offered at +145. The Saints defense is legit, but this is too good of value to ignore. Matt Lafluer will have some plays dialed up and give this bet a chance to win.
