The Green Bay Packers defeated the Chicago Bears and have clinched a spot in the NFC playoffs. What was supposed to be a rebuilding year has now put them in a spot to make a run at the Superbowl. Anything can happen in the playoffs, and the Packers are the perfect team to make a run.
Green Bay Packers Offense Shines
Jordan Love finished the game with 27/32 for 316 yards and two touchdowns. Open the checkbook; he is the Packers future. Aaron Jones had his third 100-yard game in a row since returning. Wicks finished with six receptions for 61 yards and two touchdowns. Jayden Reed had four catches for 112 yards.
Credit to Matt LaFleur; this offense is night and day better than earlier in the season. They could move the ball quickly against a good Bears defense.
Joe Barry and The Defense Shows Up
Joe Barry has taken a lot of flack this year, and rightfully so. In the past two weeks, the defense has played much better. Tonight, The Packers defense held the Bears to nine points. Justin Fields was 11/16 for 148 yards and rushed for only 27 yards.
They held Khalil Herbt to 12 rushes for 28 yards. The Packers defense played fast and aggressively. Barry mixed it up with zone and man with a spy on Fields.
Five different Packers finished with a sack. The defense looks rejuvenated after embarrassment against Tampa Bay and The Carolina Panthers. Hopefully, they can keep building off these recent games.
What’s Next for the Green Bay Packers?
The Green Bay Packers will travel to Arlington to take on the NFC East Division Champion Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys have had a great season, leading to 12 wins. The Packers come in at 9-8 and have nothing to lose.
I expect this to be a good game, and both teams can put up points. Dak Prescott and Jordan Love are in the top three for touchdowns thrown this year—time to enjoy the ride of playoff football.
