No matter what the stats say. Only one stat is important at the end of the day. Putting a one in the win column versus the Rams is all that matters. Not only did the Green Bay Packers manage to come away with a win, but they also have some offensive stats trending in the right direction. Let’s look at how the Packers stack up after week 9.

Green Bay Packers Offense and Defense

Offensively, the Packers are trending in the right direction in the run game. The Packers move up to 22nd in the NFL in rushing yards per game (100.4 YPG). More impressively, the Packers up their yards per attempt to 4.0 yards per carry, which ranks 19th in the league. That ties the Packers with the Rams and Eagles.

The defense has increased in the rankings after dominating the Rams and holding them to only three points. The Packers are 11th in total yards allowed per game. The Jets and 49ers claim the 10th and 11th spots, respectively. Say what you will, but being close to those two defenses is impressive.

Against the pass, the Packers are rank 9th. They only allowing 196 yards per game. The Packers are also tied for 4th in the league in passing touchdowns allowed with eight. The other teams tied with Green Bay are the Browns, Titans, and Jets.

Aaron Jones

Aaron Jones has been the engine of the Packers offense for five seasons. This season, due to injury, his numbers have dipped. This season, Jones is averaging 3.8 yards per carry. That is tied with Ezekiel Elliot and Najee Harris. Usually, this is a stat that Jones excels at each season. Jones has never had less than 4.5 yards per carry-on a season.

This stat is a bit loaded, but Aaron Jones is averaging 10.6 yards per reception, which ranks 15th in the NFL among running backs. Of course, this is to be expected with the Packers young receiving core games missed due to injury, but that is still an impressive statistic.

The Packers’ offense should look better as his health trends in the right direction and his stats rebound toward his career average.
