The Green Bay Packers (2-4) fell to the Denver Broncos (2-5) on Sunday.  Another slow start for the Packers and an underwhelming performance.  They had a chance to get into field goal range before a holding call set them back.  The entire team played poorly, and the grades matched.

This article will list the top five worst and best PFF-graded players from each side of the ball.  We will also include some stats and some context to the grades.

By Analyzing these stats, we can get a better idea if they match up to what we see statistically.  The PFF Grades are not everything but give a good measure of where the player stands.  A grade above 70 is good, and the 60s is average.  A grade that is below 50 would be considered below average.

Green Bay Packers Offense Analysis

Winning in the trenches translates to winning football games.  The Packers are getting destroyed on the offensive line.  Four of the top five worst grades came from the line.  Elgton Jenkins has had an abysmal year and was supposed to be the reliable guy on the line.

Looking at these numbers, they match the eye test.  The Packers could not run the ball or throw anything downfield.  This makes sense as to why Matt Lafluer went the route of quick throws.  The one strength of the Packers is now the team’s achilles heel.  I would expect them to address that position group in the NFL draft.

On the positive, Aaron Jones once again had a good game with limited snaps.  I expected them to be cautious with him, only getting 11 touches on the day.  Hopefully, Jones can return to a full workload; this team needs it.  Zach Tom is the lone bright spot on the line, a good starting point when addressing it next spring.  Dontayvion Wicks showed his receiving ability and passing ability.  As he learns the offense, I expect his target share to increase.

Overall, this offensive group needs a lot of work, and it doesn’t look possible to be fixed week to week.  This may be a much bigger issue than the scheme.

Green Bay Packers Defense Analysis

The Broncos rushed for 145 against the Green Bay Packers defense.  Too often, the defensive line was getting too deep in the backfield, and missed tackles were an issue.  Coming into this season, this Packers defensive line was expected to be the strong piece of this defense.

Packers are going to have to address the safety position in the draft.  Jonathan Owens and Keisean Nixon both played poorly.  This defense has plenty of flaws, and the safety play from those two does not help.

Carrington Valentine was targeted for four first downs.  Russell Wilson kept going back at Valentine when they needed a first down.  The Packers desperately need to get Jaire healthy and back on defense.

Kinglsey Enagbare and Rashan Gary both stood out.  To start the game, Gary had back-to-back pressures.  Gary is about back to full workload and has looked good so far.

Rudy Ford has been a standout this year and had another solid day.  He finished the day with seven tackles and he is not afraid to come downhill and hit.  Unfortunately, Devonte Wyatt left the game early because he looked good in the snaps he played.  Wyatt has been the best player on the interior defensive line this year.

The defense held the team to less than 20 points again, but the offense was not able to take advantage.
