Dallas Gant’s Background

Dallas was a four-star recruit out of St John’s Jesuit High School. He was highly sought after heading into college and ultimately signed with Ohio State. Grant’s first real action came as a sophomore with the Buckeyes. Gant played four years at Ohio State and entered the transfer portal as a fifth-year senior. Gant signed with the Toledo Rockets and played with Quinyon Mitchell, one of the top corner prospects heading into this year’s draft.

The Toledo Rockets ended the season Ranked 27th in the NCAA in points allowed. The Rockets only allowed 20.6 points per game. They also only allowed 147.2 rushing yards per game, which was 57th best in college football. Gant participated in the East versus West Shrine Bowl, where he turned some heads. He finished the game with four combined tackles. Dallas also showcased some promise in seven-on-seven drills and flashed excellent coverage skills.

How Would Dallas Gant Fit With the Green Bay Packers?

Dallas would make a great addition to the Green Bay Packers as they transition into a 4-3 defense under Jeff Hafley. Quay Walker will, without a doubt, still be a focal point on defense. However, he will need a partner in San Francisco like Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw.

Dallas is a versatile linebacker who plays physically against the run and covers well. He plays with great angles and has shown he can take on blocks and shed them to get to the ball carrier. Gant ran a 4.58 forty in college and has a 79 and 7/8th wing span, which should make him a force in pass coverage in the NFL. Green Bay could use a natural player in pass coverage and an aggressive yet fundamental tackler.
