The Green Bay Packers had one of their best drafts in several years in 2023. Can they follow it up with another outstanding class? Let’s take a look at some players to watch heading into the NFL combine.

Jordan Magee’s Background

Magee started his journey to the NFL draft from Dover High in Delaware. After high school, Magee teamed up with the Temple Owls. Temple’s official motto is “Perseverantia Vincit.” Which means “Perseverance Conquers.” In my opinion, this is a perfect motto to have heading into the NFL draft. If you take a deep dive into Magee’s college career, you will see that he has brought that motto to heart. As a freshman, Magee only played a little over 100 snaps. Each year, Magee’s role and his effectiveness on the field increased. In 2023, he had career highs in several different statistics and was the 7th highest-graded linebacker in the nation behind Caleb Bacon of Iowa State.

How Jordan Magee Would Fit With the Green Bay Packers

This might be a nice find for the Green Bay Packers in the later round of the NFL Draft. PFF has him rated as the 257th-ranked prospect entering this year’s draft. So he won’t command a high draft pick to obtain. Magee brings a few things to Green Bay that would be excellent additions to our defense.

The first and most noticeable thing is pass rushing. According to PFF, Magee ended last year as the fourth-highest-graded linebacker in the pass rush. The Packers only recorded five sacks from their inside linebackers last season. Not a single inside linebacker had a pass rush grade over 73. It might be time to add a young player through the draft who can get after the quarterback. With Jeff Hafley’s new defense coming to town, you need to give him all the ammunition to wreak havoc on offensives you can.
