How Trey Taylor Would Fit With the Green Bay Packers

If you ever had concerns about a defensive back tackling, you wouldn’t have those concerns for Trey Taylor. Tackling is all Taylor did at the Air Force. One of his weaknesses is being too aggressive against the run at times; after listening to Jeff Hafley’s opening press conference, it’s easy to see how Taylor could fit into a Hafley run defense. He can move down and cover tight ends. He has excellent length and is a smooth runner with flashes of solid ball skills.

Taylor also showed a lot of versatility in the Air Force. Here is the breakdown of where Taylors 1882 snaps were played:

  1. In the Box – 852
  2. Free Safety – 613
  3. Slot – 379
  4. Defensive Line – 24
  5. Corner – 12

The last thing that might be going under the radar is the relation to Ed Reed. Taylor is Reed’s cousin and is contacting Reed about ways to improve. He inadvertently adds that valuable asset to any team that drafts him.
