Green Bay Packers safety Darnell Savage (26) returns an interception for a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys during the second quarter of their wild card playoff game Sunday, January 14, 2024 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Few people gave the Green Bay Packers a chance at Jerry’s World on Sunday. “We’ve been counted out a lot of the season,” said Jordan Love in his post-game interview. He couldn’t be more right. Even the Cowboys players strolled into this game like the Packers were “just happy to be there”.

That couldn’t have been farther from the truth.

Green Bay Packers Start Fast

This game started like several others on this winning stretch for Green Bay. They received the opening kick and took it down the field for points. Sixteen plays and almost eight minutes set the tone for how this game would be played. The Packers controlled the clock. They had possession for over ten minutes in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Packers turned up the heat. They scored twenty unanswered points and outscored the Cowboys for 15 straight minutes. In reality, the half probably should have ended 27-0, but the officials cut the Cowboys a break on a missed false start on the Cowboys’ first touchdown.

How it Ended

To the Cowboys’ credit, they didn’t quit. I speak for all Packers fans when I say the end was too close for comfort. Lafluer probably pulled the starters a series too soon and left a small crack in the door that the Cowboys busted through. It ended up being a blessing in disguise, as it kept some wear and tear off our starters.

In my opinion, the player of the game wasn’t Aaron Jones or Jordan Love. It wasn’t the defense, even though they played great football for 36 minutes. It was the offensive line. They dominated this game. They handed Micah Parsons the worst performance of his NFL career. Parsons’ was held to one pressure on 19 pass rush attempts. This group dominated in run and pass blocking most of the day, and they should get a ton of credit for their performance. If the Packers are going to succeed moving forward, the offensive line will need to play like this again.

I’ll leave you with a really uplifting video for all Packers fans. Bears fan reacts to the Packers destroying the Cowboys.
