I’m sure most of the Green Bay Packers will feel excitement and nerves today vs. the Dallas Cowboys. They are the youngest team since 1978 (when they expanded to a 16-game schedule) to make the playoffs.
However, as this game starts, the Packers will need to be able to ride the storm at some point. The Dallas Cowboys are the highest-scoring team in the NFL; there is no doubt they’ll get theirs. The Packers have had a season filled with adversity and are a much stronger team from it.
Green Bay Packers Injury Report
Doubtful:
Questionable:
- Jaire Alexander
- Christian Watson
This might be the shortest list the Packers have had for a game. Jaire Alexander injured his ankle during a walkthrough practice, which Matt LaFleur called a “freak deal. LaFleur also said,” He will legitimately be a game-time decision.” If Alexander cannot go, it will be tough for the two young guys on the outside against the high-octane Cowboys offense.
Christian Watson is still trying to return from a hamstring injury suffered back in December against the Kansas City Chiefs. Last year against the Cowboys, he had four receptions for 107 yards and three touchdowns. Even though the offense has looked good in his absence, you can never have enough playmakers. Hopefully, he can go for the biggest game of his career.
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds
The Dallas Cowboys are favored by seven points over the Green Bay Packers. The total is set at 50.5 points. Las Vegas expects this to be a higher-scoring game, with the Cowboys ultimately winning. Since 2021, the Packers are 15-7 against the spread as underdogs. This is a much different team from the last two years, but rest assured, LaFleur will have them ready.
Matchup to Keep an Eye On
Micah Parson vs. the Green Bay Packers offensive line. Dan Quinn loves to move Parsons all over the line and have him attack in multiple ways. Per PFF, Parsons is the second-highest-rated pass rusher this year. He leads the league in pressures with 103 and 69 hurries. On the season, he had 16 sacks. Parsons is an ultimate game wrecker who will challenge the Packers offensive line.
It will be interesting to see how LaFleur and the offense approach this defense and how they attack Parsons.
