The Green Bay Packers look to improve to 3-1 by taking on the division rival Detroit Lions (2-1).  The last time these two teams met, the Lions knocked the Packers out of the playoffs in Lambeau.  The Packers have a chance to redeem themselves.

Jimmy Malchow (1-1): Lions Over Packers 27-21

This is a tough matchup for the Packers across the board.  Both teams are battling injuries, but I’m unsure if the Packers can overcome them against the Lions.  Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta will test the middle of the Packers defense.

Rookie Jahmyr Gibbs will be in a similar role as the Falcons Bijan Robinson, who ate up the Packers.  De’Vondre Campbell has already been ruled out, a big blow to the Packers defense.  Jaire Alexander is trending towards being out as well.

Offensively, David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins are ruled out, and Zach Tom is questionable.  If Tom can’t go, they will have to shuffle the line even more against a solid Lions defensive line.  Lions second-year defensive end Aiden Hutchinson will be a handful for the Packers offensive line.

As much as I would love to pick the Packers at home, I think the Lions come away with the win here.

Zach Weller (1-1): Packers Over Lions 24-21

It’s time for the Packers to get revenge against the Lions.  Last season, the Packers were primed to go on another “relax” run from Rodgers and sneak into the playoffs until Dan Campbell and the Lions spoiled it.  This year, it feels like the tables are turned.  This season, the Lions are expected to win the NFC North. At the same time, the Packers are just trying to develop their young talent.

If the Packers can avoid the penalties and mistakes from last week, Lafluer has shown he can scheme up great looks.  The best way to beat the Lions is to limit their time of possession and get after Goff.  Cue Rashan Gary to stage right.  Nobody has had a multiple-sack game against the Lions.  It won’t be easy against a great offensive line, but Gary is up for the challenge.

Regardless, I expect this will be a great game to go down to the wire.
