The Green Bay Packers look to win their fifth game, the biggest game of these guys’ careers yet. The 49ers are the number-one seed and have played well most of the year. This should be a great battle.

Here are the predictions for the game.

Jimmy Malchow (8-9): Packers Over Niners 27-26

I have officially drank the Kool-Aid, and there’s no going back for me. The 49ers may be the top team in the NFC, but I am not convinced that they have beaten any top teams. They beat the Eagles, who were down spiraling, and then got dismantled by the Ravens. They blew out the Cowboys early in the season, but this isn’t October anymore.

I am not saying the Packers will walk in and get a win, but I am saying the 49ers aren’t world-beaters. The Packers are arguably the hottest team in the playoffs. It is time to exorcise their demons and end the playoff drought vs. the 49ers.

Offensively, I expect it to be a ground-and-pound game. If Dillon is good to go, I would not be surprised to see a lot of two-back sets early. The Packers should be able to run the ball off tackle with success. Once the run game gets established, the play-action should be able to pick up good chunk plays.

Defensively, find a way. They have to have their best-tackling game against this talented Niners offense. Deebo Samuel worries me the most; he runs with anger with the ball in his hands. Lukas Van Ness needs to step up in Enagbare’s absence. The defensive line needs to get after Purdy.

The Packers win the game late on a legacy drive from Jordan Love, who finishes with 250 yards and three touchdowns.

Zach Weller (9-8): Packers over Niners 34-31

Nobody is giving the Green Bay Packers a chance in this game. Guess what? Nobody gave them a chance last week, either. The media likes to look to past games and seasons and make statements like, “San Francisco is more talented than Green Bay” or “The Packers are too young; they don’t know any better.” It’s all nonsense for TV.

The Packers have a bunch of professionals who happen to be younger than 25 years old. When it comes to talent, are you sure the Niners have more talent? You can argue that the Niners have the better players at the top of their roster, but you can’t say they have more talent. The Packers have four receivers with at least five touchdowns and 400 yards receiving. The Niners have Aiyuk and Samuel. The Packers have Doubs, Reed, Wicks, and Watson. That seems like more talent to me.

Give me the Packers over the Niners 34-31.
