Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers took himself and all the drama surrounding his situation in the organization with him to New York after the trade. Packers fans everywhere had a massive weight lifted from their shoulders once this happened.
Personally, I’m thrilled to have the situation end the way it did. I did want him traded to give Jordan Love a shot. I also wanted the drama gone. Everything seems to have worked out.
With that being said, and Rodgers not being a distraction for Green Bay anymore, it’s fun looking at some of the things that have come out surrounding his new situation and more in-depth details of how the relationship ended with the Packers. This time, word got out about Aaron vetoing a trade with the New England Patriots in favor of the New York Jets, according to a report from FoxSports.
Taking things at face value, it sounds like he wanted to play for the Jets, and only the Jets. Which makes complete sense. The Jets are in a much better situation than the Patriots for this season, and probably moving forward. The Jets have an ascending offense with plenty of young talent at the skill positions. The defense is also top notch. You could even say they are only a quarterback away from being serious Super Bowl contenders. None of those qualities can be used to describe the Patriots.
But what if there’s a little more to the story?
Green Bay Packers Fans Always Read Between the Lines With Aaron Rodgers
As all Green Bay Packers fans know, there’s always more than what meets the eye with the Chico, California native. Most clues can be found in his calculated statements and interviews.
Rodgers is on record saying he’s had the most fun he has had in a long time since his arrival to New York. He’s pictured all over the city at numerous events with various Jets players. Which seems seems pretty interesting, as New England has rarely been described to be a fun place to play.
Another less obvious factor could have something to do with the previous quarterback to play in New England. You know, that Tom Brady guy? Following him up would be no easy task, which seems like a great reason to steer clear of New England.
At the end of the day, none of this matters. What is done is done, and it seems all parties got what they wanted. But with no horse in the race anymore, this stuff is fun to throw around every now and then.
Because who would know Aaron better than the Green Bay Packers fan base?
